The Secret

Wednesday I had this bright idea to take the kids pictures so I can get a picture tie made for John for Father's day. John had a meeting at the stake center so he was going to be late so I thought it would work great and John wouldn't find out. So we went to take their picture and that was so fun as I am sure you can imagine. When one was looking others weren't. Jenna had an opinion as to where she should be. Briauna was crying and Caleb was just silly. They really did pretty good but getting five kids to all look at the camera at the same time is a challenge. The funniest part is when John got home Jenna said " Dad, we took a picture for you so you could pick a tie you like and it is a surprise." John and I both just started laughing and he said "well at least I know what I am getting for Father's Day." I guess I shouldn't of trusted a 3 yr old to keep a secret when she doesn't even know what a secret is. Some of them turned out ok but we may need to try again. Wish me luck.

Our Little Singer

Tuesday night I was startled awake by my Jenna. She was in my bed with Caleb's MP3 player on and was singing a Hannah Montana song very loudly. I was a little disoriented for a few minutes and then realized what was happening. I tried to keep her quiet so she wouldn't wake Briauna up while trying to figure out what was going on my self. I don't think she was totally awake but she sure was singing loud. I don't know how she made it into our bed with the MP3 player without waking either of us up. The saddest part about the whole thing is even in my groggy state I knew which Hannah Montana song she was singing. I forgot part of the story so here it goes. The next morning I was getting ready in the bathroom and can you guess what I heard. Yes, her sing that lovely Hannah Montana song again.

9 months

Briauna is now 9 months. It is crazy how fast she has grown. She now sits pretty well and loves to eat everything. She scoots and rolls all over the place. She loves her food and she isn't very patient with me at times. She has the best smile and is such a good tempered baby. She has now said Ma Ma and Da Da. She babbles a lot and love for anyone to talk to her. We are so grateful for her and love her so much.

Our Baby Girl

As many of you know Briauna was preemie and because she was in the NyICU for more than 3 days she was automatically enrolled in a community health program. A nurse comes over and assess how Briauna is doing. She checks her weight, length, and development. Then she give some suggestions how to help her catch up to her actual age. Braiuna is currently 8 1/2 months old but her adjusted age is 6 1/2 months. She is doing well and with the nurses advise we started practicing with sitting and increasing her strength in her stomach and back. She is 11lb 15oz and 23 1/2 in.

Splash Park

We love having the splash park in the neighborhood. The kids really enjoy it. With it just opening for the year we have gone several times. Jenna calls it her water park and Garrett thinks he is too big to go unless a friend of his goes with him. He is pretty good to come when we want to go as a family. These pictures are from last Friday evening.

Little Girls

Having my children come in the order that they did I am now getting to experience things in a whole new way. I know boys. I am not worried when they climb, fall and get dirty. Girls are a whole different story. Jenna is a such a fun stage. She loves to pretend and with that talks to her self all the time. If she has someone she wants to talk to she doesn't stop. Lately she is also loves bags. purses, backpacks. They are always filled with a lot of treasures. It is so fun and I am grateful she is so girly. Jenna was having a lovely time talking and singing to herself one evening after all the boys went to bed.

I went upstairs one day to see why Jenna was so quiet and this is what I found. She again was talking to herself and doing her barbies hair.

We went to the splash park last week and of course Jenna needed to bring her backpack. I was surprised she could carry it. She has curlers, 2 sets of cloths, her swim suit, comb and a few toys. When we got there I told her she could not play in the water because she did not wear her suit and she quickly informed me that she had it in her backpack. I just love her.

Phoenix Roadrunners

A few weekends ago we went to the St. Patrick's day Festival and got some ticket to see a Phoenix Roadrunner Hockey game. They are the minor league team in AZ. Even though it was a school night we thought it would be fun to take the boys to their first hockey game. John has just recently gone to a game as really enjoyed it and we thought the boys might as well. Thanks to grandma and grandpa for watching the girls on our night out. The boys had a lot of fun and watched the whole thing. If you ask them their favorite parts they will tell you "the fights". Their weren't to many but it was a crack up how excited everyone got when they would start. We had good close seats so we could see well. Sadly the Roadrunner lost 5 -3 but it was a lot of fun. The boys have already asked when they can go to another game. I enjoyed it as well and would love to go to another game.

Pinewood Derby

Pinewood Derby is such a man sport. I think it is fun to watch my boys get excited about it but that is about as fun as I think it is. Thank goodness for grandpa and dad. Grandpa enjoys making the cars with my boys. We looked online for different styles so they could pick what they wanted their cars to look like. Then we picked the color, Garrett was blue and Lance was green. Grandpa has been making cars for about 30 years. We are so grateful that he is so willing to help and the boys love how they turned out. This year with two participating I was somewhat worried if they had to race each other but luckily that did not happen. They both did great and get to go to district. With it being pack meeting as well Garrett got his Arrow of Light Award and crossed over to Boy Scouts. He even went on his first camp out. He can only go on 2 a year until he is 12yrs and John has to go with him. He had a lot of fun and cannot wait to go again.
