Changing Rooms

This post involves two stories.

Story #1

We have 5 bedroom house which 4 rooms are used for sleeping. Jenna and Briauna share a room and Caleb and Lance share. Garrett has his own since he is the oldest and his room is the smallest. On Sunday the boys were fighting and part of it was because Lance went into Garrett's room. Garrett got really upset. Garrett has been told that it is a privilege to have his own room and that it could be taken away. I was done and decided that the boys needed to get along better so more togetherness might help. We don't want them to go to their room and shut the other siblings out because they don't want to deal with them. We move Garrett's bed into Lance and Caleb's room. You have to understand that there room is really big so they had plenty of room for him. Garrett was so upset and Lance and Caleb were so excited to have him in there. After some thought I felt bad for really only punishing Garrett and that they all needed equal punishment so we told Garrett we would move him back. He decided that he would try it for a week to see how it was. Jenna of course could not be left out and wanted to sleep in there as well. So for the last 2 nights 4 of the kids have slept in 1 room. I guess I didn't need all of those rooms after all.

Story #2

As I said earlier Jenna and Briauna share a room. Briauna was in our room for about 10 months. Jenna wanted to help her and climbed into her crib so Briauna's safety we kept her with us until she could stand. Last week Jenna informed me that she did not Briauna in her room anymore and that I needed to move the crib back in my room. I told her no and that it was Briauna's room as well. She then said,"Well I will be loud and Briauna won't be able to sleep so don't put her in there tonight. " John and I think that Jenna is again struggling with jealousy and sharing especially now since Briauna is getting older and able to do more. It is always interesting the ideas they come up with.

She is tiny but BUSY

Briauna has suddenly become very curious. The cupboards speak to her to see what is inside. She wants to know what is at the bottom of the diaper dag and everything looks better when you climb on it. It has been a while since I have had a climbing curious child. Jenna got into stuff but not like this and she didn't climb. She only climbed out of her crib twice and then forgot how. I have a feeling that Briauna will be climbing out when she gets a little bigger. It will be fun to see her personality as she grows. Garrett was very busy as a baby and toddler but now he is very calm and laid back so maybe she will also be that way. Who knows, I will just have to wait and see.

She wants to help with dishes.

A great place to play while mom is on the computer.

She loves Jenna's chair and sits in it all the time.

Great toys to climb as long as they don't roll.

She gets into the car by climbing over the door that doesn't open.

Fun with the GIRLS!

The boys are in school from 7:30 until 2:30 everyday. This gives Jenna, Briauna and I a lot of girl time. I always knew girls and boys were different but everyday I see more evidence of it. Jenna and Briauna want/ need more attention. Sometimes they play well together but Jenna loves projects and playing house. Both of these activities require either supervision or 2 people to play. I don't mind most times but sometimes I have things to do during the day. I am the daughter while playing house and the projects are involved. I am always telling myself to cherish these moments because too soon they won't want to play house with me. I love my girls are here are some pictures of what our days are like.

Braiuna has discovered the playroom and loves it. I really have to try to keep it clean since she loves to eat anything on the ground.

Jenna loves to cut things up and it keeps her busy.

Dressing up is always on the agenda. I find it amusing to count how many outfits she wears in a day. Usually she doesn't get them dirty so no harm done when it doesn't increase my laundry.

Reading books is great in helping her take a nap.

I even let her help make cookies, this is rare.

So many fun things on the fridge to play with.

These were Jenna's idea and poor Briauna get roped into doing things she cannot control. Thank goodness she always seems to enjoy herself.

There is Something Different

We went for eye appointments last week and Garrett and Caleb now have glasses. Garrett used to wear glasses because he was farsighted in one eye. That corrected itself but now he is nearsighted. He is supposed to wear them while reading, in school, on computer, or watching t.v. This basically means all the time. He was not happy that he had to wear glasses again. Caleb is nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other and he has to wear his all the time. He also was not happy and said that now he would be a nerd. So we told him all of the people that he knew that needed to wear glasses. It didn't help much until we got to his friend's older brother and then it was a little better. I think they look great and hopefully they will not get lost or broke.

The New Toy!!

My dad has a ton of gas powered remote control cars. He decided that he was going to give my family and my brother's family each one to have. These cars are really nice . He does amazing paint jobs on them and takes great care of them. My boys were of course so excited. Garrett was with John when grandpa was showing them how they work. We got it on Sunday when we went to Sunday dinner. As soon as we they got home from school on Monday they were asking if they could drive it. So finally after dinner we went out front and let them have a try. They had a lot of fun and are better than I thought they would be. It is a great time of year now that it is nice to go outside in the evening. Thanks DAD !! They love it !!

The Car
Caleb was the first to go. He made me a little nervous but he got better the longer he drove.I think Lance was a little intimidated by it but he had fun.Garrett was a lot better than I thought and drove it very fast.John had more fun than he expected. I was worried a car driving by my run over the car but they all did well to keep it safe.

The Farm and The Pig

Our ward started an activity to help teach us self preparedness and sufficiency. There is a family that is allowing us to use part of their land to have a garden. We planted corn, carrots, beans, pumpkin, squash. We also are raising a pig. It is already big but we are fattening it up. We are doing all of this for the ward Christmas party in December. Families are signing up each day to go weed the garden and feed the pig. Our first time is next week. Our first activity was to make the rows and plant the seeds. It was fun but dirty and hot. Thank heavens I am not a farmers wife. Here is a few pictures of our day.

Garrett and Lance did great and helped a lot.

We finally got Caleb away from playing with friends to help.

Jenna planted carrots

Briauna was a good sport hanging out in the shade of her stroller.

The Pig, who does not have a name since we will be eating him.
