It's a Party

Saturday was our ward Halloween party. A wonderful family in our ward let us use their backyard for the party. It was so much fun. There was food, games, face painting, a hayride and of course candy. This year was hard coming up with costumes and as a result Lance still doesn't know what to be for Halloween. Hopefully he will decide before Friday.

Garrett was a farmer. I didn't see him most of the night. I guess at this age friends are more fun .

Lance's kinda costume. A jester hat and candy corns for crazy teeth.

Caleb was a Air Force pilot. It was Garrett's several years ago and Caleb thought is was an ok costume for this year.

Jenna was a ballerina. She loved dancing around and getting her face painted. It was even still on for church in the morning.

Briauna was a good sport and kept her clown hat on pretty well. She even was able to walk in the outfit covering her feet. You got to love a silly dad.

My First Sewing Project

Super Saturday was this past weekend and I did not sign up for anything to do. For those that did not sign up they provided material for us to do a sewing project. I don't sew. The bobbin is my enemy. It gets messed up and I just quit. With some help from some very nice friends I was able to sew an apron. Simple I know but a victory for me.

The Park

Only a girl would wear this outfit to the part.

Jenna had fun climbing without any help.

Briauna's first time on the swing at the park. At first she wasn't sure weather to laugh or cry.

Pumpkin Carving

Today I was able to go to school and help in a pumpkin carving activity in Caleb's 2nd grade class. I was so fun. His teacher is amazing. He doesn't yell but he talks in a was that the kids know he means business. It is quite amazing to watch. We had about 27 kids and 23 pumpkins. They had to estimate the height, weight, circumference, amount of lines on the outside, color on the inside and number of seeds. Then of course we went through these exercises to find out how close the kids were. Caleb's pumpkin was 10in. tall, 13.4lbs, 28in. circumference, 21 lines, light orange and 388 seeds. Counting the seeds was the worst part. Each kids drew the faces and the carving began. A parent took pictures of the whole class and each individual kid. A lucky parent took the seeds home to bake for a snack on Friday. It was a great fun filled activity. I could not of expected that it would turn out so good. Caleb didn't even mind that I was there.

The pain of being one

Poor Briauna has been dealing with a sore mouth. Up until a few days ago she only had two teeth. Three came in yesterday and two more should pop through any day. She really had only one bad day and has done really well. I know it is part of growing up but that many at the same time is rough.

Candy

It is amazing the things that come out of kids mouths. I was at the store this morning and while checking out Jenna saw candy and said, " Mom, my tummy needs candy." I say," oh really." She said," yes, she is very hungry and needs candy." I have no idea where it came from but I thought is was funny.

The Last Day of Swimming

My kids are kooky and decided to go swimming this weekend in 70 something degree water. I guess with it being in the 90's outside you would think the water wouldn't be too bad. About 15 minutes into it they got out. Only in AZ would you think to swim in October.

Look at what she found

Walking

We are getting closer to having 5 walking kids. Last Wednesday October 1st Briauna stood up from the floor and took 2 steps. You would of thought it was Christmas with the way my kids reacted. They all cheered and clapped which in turn made her get excited and clap. Since that day she is finding more and more opportunities to takes steps. She is also getting better standing up from the floor. The kids have also been so excited to show all who are willing to watch her stand. It has been very fun to watch but yet sad to see how fast she is growing.
