Mommy and Daddy School

This morning I decided to work on some homework for the week. Jenna' s friend Raelyn came over to play which was great. They wanted me to do something for them and I had told them to wait until I was done answering a question on my homework. Raelyn made a funny face and looked at Jenna and said, " She does school." Jenna said very excitedly, " Yes, she goes to mommy and daddy school." I thought it was cute.

Thunder in the Desert

Saturday our family got to go to Luke Days. John and I have been to several air show growing up with both of our dad's being in the military. We thought the kids would enjoy it. It was fun and quite warm. We had to walk a long way and there was a ton of people but it was worth it. Garrett loves the military so he really enjoyed it.

The United States Air Force Thunderbirds was the last performance. It was great. You really feel a sense of pride being able to live in this great country when you see these men perform. The music that goes with it sets a great patriotic mood. It was fun and the kids loved the planes. We will go again next year.

John took Garrett and Jenna up close so Garrett could get a good look at the Thunderbirds.

This is the scene during the show.

Jasmine

Our little charity case of a dog found her owner. She had learned to jump on a rock in our backyard which helped her to jump on our back fence. She would even walk the wall. Pretty smart thing she is. While doing this she jump over and some kids that go to the school picked her up and took her home. My kids were so devastated. They went over to their house to make sure they were telling the truth. Garrett even wrote them a note offering to use his birthday money to buy her back. The boys were so mad. Garrett still thinks they should of licensed her and kept their story strait in how long they had her and how much they paid for her. We kept telling the kids this might happen but it is still hard now that it really happened. Oh well, now Maggie (our dog) is alone and bored again.

School

I think I am crazy. I started school last week to get my Bachelors in Nursing. As if I am not busy enough with 5 kids, 1 job, church and life. John and I have talked about it for a while and I gave in. He is such an advocate for education mainly because he feel it make you well rounded and keep you brain young. He also started his master program the same day I did. Luckily all this school is complements of Grand Canyon University since John is employed by them. I guess I will see if I can do it. I haven't been to school since 2000 and I am feeling pretty afraid and intimidated. Though I am happy that it is online and I don't have to see anyone face to face. To break me in easy my first class is Intro to Online Schooling. I am glad I started with this course. It has already help me learn to work the sight and learn more about the school I am attending. With that all said, wish me luck....I will need it.

The girls love to Dance

Old Cartoons

Garrett got this set of old cartoons from one of his friends for this birthday. I can't believe how much the kids have enjoyed watching them. The have spend the last several day watching these shows. Popeye is one of the favorites. It is funny to see these shows that are alot older that Iam and my kids like them.

Fun with Marshmallows

On Saturday some friends came over for dinner and brought their marshmallow guns over for the kids to play. Well they love it. The yard was a mess but it was worth it.

The Boy Party

For Garrett's 12th birthday we had a few of his friends over to play computers and do boy stuff. They had a great time. I thought they would be on the computer the whole time but to my surprise they weren't. They jumped on the trampoline, made little rockets from matches, ate pizza and just ran around and made lots of noise until around 10pm. It was great and I am grateful to all those that help provide the computers and also those who let my other two boys play at their house. It all was fun and was a great night.

The Gang

Boys sure love computers

They has a blast on the trampoline especially with noodle swords

Making the rockets from the book "The Big Book of Boys Stuff"

Happy 12th Birthday Garrett!!

It is hard to believe that he is already 12yrs old. I don't feel like it has been that many years and I don't feel old enough to have a 12yr old. He is such a good boy with a kind heart. He still love military, history and science. He gets along great with his teacher at school because of science. He has really grown and improved this school year and we are so proud of him. He even got Honor Roll. He will now have more responsibilities at church for which he is excited. We sure do love him a ton and are so grateful for all he does as a part of our family.
