Relay for Life

I was asked by a friend if I wanted to participate in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. I had wanted to do something in rememberance of my mom. This was perfect. So yesterday we participated in the walk. I also raised about $300.

They had a nice ceremony and then the walk started. It began at 3pm and went to 6am. The goal was to have at least one member on your team walking on the track at all times.

We made a lumineria in rememberance of Grandma Pam.

My dear friend Grace came from Utah to walk with me. It was such a fun time.

They had activities for the kids to do. There were tents up with teams selling food to help raise money for cancer.

We sold baked goods.

Briauna and Alyssa had fun walking and playing.

We all wore crowns, sashes, and had a wand. It was so fun.

We brought lots of chairs, food, and drinks. It was hot and also a long day and night.

It was a great experience doing this walk. I had a ton of friends to do it with and it was inspiring seeing those survivors walk. I can't wait to do it next year.
