Slide Rock

Yesterday we went to Sedona to go to Slide Rock. The last time I went was when I was 4 or 5 yrs old. Some friends of ours had gone last year and had a ton of fun so we wanted to go with them this year. I took just the boys, I did not think the girls would have fun. My mom watched the girls for me and I borrowed my sister's car to help save gas. The drive was an interesting one. First off I think the boys are getting a little tired of each other and are ready to go back to school. Lance and Caleb argued a lot and then there was a ton of construction. It took longer than we thought. When we got there we had to wait in line to park because the lot was full. Luckily it didn't take long. It was pretty full of people but we didn't care. It was a lot of fun and I didn't remember it at all. The water was freezing!! You do get used to it but oh my heck it was cold. The boys went everywhere and I didn't have to really watch them. Garrett told me he wanted to go jump off a cliff with Justine who is almost 16yrs old. I thought it was a small one like one I saw some other kids jumping off of so I said OK. I go to watch and about had a heart attack. The cliff was about as tall as my two story house, maybe taller. I yelled and tried to get his attention to stop him but next thing I knew he jumped. He of course thought it was great but that was the only time he did it. The boy is my dare devil. I think the jump rose my blood pressure and then I got a headache and got sick. It was about an hour until I finally got feeling better. Then the boys ran up telling me that Lance busted his lip. Thankfully a man was helping him to me with blood everywhere. He was fine and even got back in the water. We stayed about 3.5 hrs and had a lot of fun but were very tired. On our drive home the boys kept begging to stop and eat but I just wanted to get home. Then the undercarriage plastic cover of my sister's car broke. Well, the bolts broke and it was dragging. Luckily it was right by an off ramp with a gas station and a Wendy's. It took about an hour and a half for me to get the rest of the part off and the boys got fed. It was kinda sad that I was out there for about and hour lying on the ground under a car until a worker at the gas station finally came up to help me with the last part. My sweet Garrett then said, " Look mom Heavenly Father answered my prayer." I just love him. We got to my mom's house around 8pm, met John and picked up the girls. I was a fun day and I will do it again but with John next time. The boys loved it and can't wait to go again.

One BIG July Birthday Party

I have posted about each kids individual birthday in July and have mentioned the combined party. I decided to finally post some pictures of it. It was a great day besides that half of the family was sick. The kids had fun swimming and eating. We are grateful for the family members and friends that came to help us celebrate.

Happy Birthday Caleb

The last of the July birthdays has come and Caleb is now 7yrs old. Yesterday we were at my parents house and realized that it was his birthday. I felt bad but we did just celebrate it with the family. We woke up this morning and he got his presents and was pretty excited. Sometimes it is hard having a birthday on Sunday but he did good. After church he got to enjoy his gifts and then off to my brothers house to celebrate my nephew's birthday which is also today. It was a nice day with family.
The kids enjoying a game of Trouble before church.
Caleb and Kyle share the same birthday.

Caleb is such a silly guy. He is a bundle of energy. He is loves to play with his friends and tries so hard to keep up with his brothers. He has a little of my grandfather in him and loves to tease others. He is a sweet boy and loves to help with his baby sister. He enjoys playing the PlayStation, riding his bike, swimming and playing with Legos. He is liked by many and is a good boy. We love him are so grateful for him. It is so hard to believe that he is 7yrs. I can still remember like yesterday how tiny he was and how fast he grew. We are happy he is part of our family and we enjoy watching him grow up.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

It is so hard to believe that one year has passed. It is so fun and yet sad to see my baby growing up. She is such a joy in our life. She had a rough start but has done so great since. As I look back at the last year it almost doesn't seem real. I sometimes can't believe all that has happened. I wouldn't change anything and am so grateful that she is healthy and strong. She is tiny but very busy and wants to do so much. She now crawls up the stairs without encouragement. She eats everything and really enjoys it. She loves the water and playing with toys. She loves her siblings and lights up when they are around. I have to say that she loves me more than John and that is a first for me. We love her so much and are grateful for her.

The Party
We celebrated Briauna' s birthday as a combined party with her brothers. The poor baby was so sick. She must of caught a stomach flu because she was having problems on both ends. She slept most of the day and just wanted to be held. We got a few grins out of her and she did perk up when she saw the cake. She started pulling things off and eating the frosting. It was so cute. She didn't really care about the gifts and just wanted to be held. It was a good day and memorable. It was too bad she didn't get to enjoy it more. We are so grateful for the friends and family that came and celebrated.

I'm a Big Girl

I had a conversation with Jenna about a week ago but keep forgetting to post it. I thought it was funny and wanted to remember it. I love the age she is at. She has quite a opinion and sometimes she surprises me with what comes out of her mouth.

We are still working with her staying dry all night. She has been potty trained for a very long time but she must sleep really soundly because she still sometimes has a hard time. I never know when she will have an accident so we put diaper on her at night. I try to save myself from some extra laundry. So anyways I was getting her ready for bed and putting a diaper on her and this was our conversation:

Me: Jenna, big girls don't wear diapers to bed. I thought you were a big girl.

Jenna: I wear a diaper to bed because you don't want me to pee pee on my sheets.

Me: But big girls don't pee pee in the bed.

Jenna: I don't pee pee in the bed I pee pee in my diaper.

I then started laughing and was quite amazed how she can take flip things around right back to me. I just love it.

Photo Tag

Here's what you gotta do: Take pictures of the following things just as they are - no stopping to clean, straighten, or to wipe a child's nose: The kitchen sink, the fridge, the toilet, the closet, the laundry room, your favorite shoes, your favorite room, and your kiddies (or pets). No cheating! Then post them on your blog and tag someone else!

I was so happy after I got tagged that I don't like dirty dishes left in my sink.

Nothing special about a bunch of food.

Another thing I was happy that was actually clean.

My closet that no one ever sees unless they are needing to get to the attic or get dressed.

I was actually caught up on laundry so there isn't the usually 4 full baskets of cloth

I love our playroom. It usually looks like this but at least I can shut the door. Everything has a spot and no toys are in the bedrooms.

This is what it can look like.

I wear these everyday and you can tell. I will soon have to find another favorite pair.
Just a lazy day playing on the computer.
Jenna loves her Aqua Doodle and Briauna love to eat it.

Now I tag Shawna, Erin, Beth and Hayley. Have fun!!
