Th Family Party

On Sunday we celebrated the kids birthdays with our families and a few neighbors. We had a lot of fun eating and visiting.

Briauna showing off her new shoes.

The kids got a slip and slide from John's brother Joe and his wife Christine. They loved it and have played with it often.

Happy Birthday Caleb

Caleb is 8yrs old today. It is crazy to see all of my kids grow older. He is such a good boy. He is the family clown. He is always teasing and joking around. He never takes a serious picture unless I beg. He loves playing with his friends. He enjoys Legos and wants to learn baseball. He is little but holds his own and can keep up with his brothers pretty well. He love to help Briauna and play with her. He doesn't like roller coasters or bugs. We love him and am excited for him to get baptized next month. Happy Birthday Caleb.

The Lateover

We had a lateover to celebrate the boys birthday with their friends. It was very low key but they all had fun. We got pizza, a movie, water balloons, a playstation, and a Xbox. It was great. They just ran around and played. I didn't have to do anything.

We only went through 4 pizzas. I was shocked they didn't eat more.
The water balloons were gone in about 5 minutes.
They watched Inkheart.

Happy Birthday Briauna

Briauna was 2yrs old on the 20th. Since we were gone on her birthday I am posting late but that's ok. She is such a busy little girl. Each day she is doing more. I can't keep up. She loves to climb on anything and is getting faster at running. She loves airplanes and watching the roller coaster we say at Knott's. She loves her brothers and sister and gives kisses all the time. She loves dogs and babies. When we were at Knott's every time she saw Snoopy she would say," doggie, doggie " and hold her hands out. She is a good natured little one and is so fun to have around. We love her so much.

California Trip Day 4 : 7/22/09 Going Home

Wednesday we headed home from our trip. We decided to head to China Town before we left. I am glad we went but did not enjoy the traffic. It was noon and we were driving like 20 mile per hour. It was crazy. There are definitely too many people living in that state. I love living in Arizona. I love that you can get off the freeway and get back on at the same exit. I always thought Arizona was busy but I am glad it isn't like LA. I am going to invest in a GPS before going there again. We got lost too many times. During our visit to China Town the kids got some more gifts/junk to take home. It was good to walk around before our long drive home. We drove for a while and stopped at a Sam's Club a couple hours outside of LA and had pizza for dinner. Then we had the long stretch to Phoenix. We finally got back at 10:15pm. It was so nice to get home and sleep in my bed. It was a fun trip. I am so glad we went.

California Trip Day 3 : 7/21/09

Tuesday we went to the beach. We weren't sure where to go so we drove up Pacific Coast Highway to see if we could find a good spot. We ended up north of Huntington Beach. I discovered I am not a fan of sand. It was everywhere and in everything. It was worth it because the kids had a blast.

Briauna did not like sand at all. By the end of the day she was doing better but I won't go so far as to say she liked it.

I love seeing John with his girls.

Caleb and Jenna played the whole day together. It was fun to see them enjoy each other and just have fun.

Jenna loved the beach.

Garrett and Lance spent their whole day with the boogie board. They made me nervous how far our they would go to catch a wave.

Lance thought it would be fun to help Jenna ride the waves.

Caleb couldn't be left out so John helped him.

Briauna loved the water.

After the beach we headed to Long Beach to go on a harbor cruise. This is a picture of some of the ports we saw on our way.

We are waiting for the boat to leave port.

This is a working lighthouse and they made a park around it.

The Queen Mary was in the same port we left from. It was huge.
Some sleepy seals
This is an oil island. There are five in this area. Something we learned is that when they discovered oil under Long Beach the started pumping it out but Long Beach sank 29ft so they came up with a system to pump water into the space that they pump the oil out from so it wouldn't sink anymore. They still use this technique today.
The kids enjoyed the ride but were getting tired.
Briauna was so busy I took her down in the boat to try and contain her.

After the harbor cruise we headed to the Los Angeles temple.
