Easter Weekend

Our Easter weekend started out with going to the Easter Pageant at the Mesa Arizona Temple. This is the first year we went with just our family. We tried to plan well with food and snacks to help with their attention. We got their around 6pm and found a nice lawn spot. The kids enjoyed seeing all the characters walk around. Jenna really liked the "soldier" and kept wanting him to come back. It was a lot of fun and I think the kids enjoyed it as well. They even paid attention most of the time.

Saturday was a day filled with business. We started out at 10am with an Easter egg hunt at the park put on by a community church. Jenna, Lance, and Briauna went with John for a while. Caleb then went to a party at 10:30am for a friend at school. He missed the hunt but he had fun at the Indiana Jones party. Garrett had his friend birthday that started at 11am. He invited 3 friends to come. They got pizza and went and saw Spiderwick Chronicles. John got to be the adult supervision because I did not want to see the movie. They returned around 3pm and played for a while.

Sunday was a nice day. We tried so hard to get to church on time to get a seat but failed. We were only 5 minutes late but they set up seats in the gym so at least we could hear and sit together. After some rest time at home we headed to grandma and grandpa's house. It was a great dinner and fun hunting for eggs. Grandma puts money in their eggs so they love hunting at her house. We love going to my parents house and hanging out with family.

Spring Break

Spring Break was a well needed break for us all. The boys really were tired of school and I was tired of getting them up in the morning for school. They are so good and get ready mostly themselves but I need to make sure before they leave. With that said we were all excited for a week off. Monday and Tuesday we spent several hours outside at the park and riding bikes. I love that my kids enjoy being outside. They play enough computer and PlayStation as it is so when they want to be outside we do it. Wednesday Garrett got sick and then later in the afternoon I go it as well. This lasted until Friday night. So much for having a fun Spring Break. I felt so awful and had no energy to do anything. They did great and were very helpful. I felt bad they did not get to do much. We did go to my mom's house on Friday afternoon and John came home early to help. Saturday I felt great and wanted to do something fun with the kids to try and make up for the week of illness. We decided to hit a few festival downtown. First we went to the Aloha Festival. It was fun but crowded. We saw dancers and lots of shops. We walked around for a while then left.
John and I were a little crazy and decided to walk to the St. Patrick's Day Faire at the deck park over the I-10. Our car was pretty close to it so we thought it would be easy to get to on the way back.It wasn't too far but Lance and Caleb kept needing encouragement to keep moving.

The St. Patrick's Day Faire was fun. There was a park gated in the festival so when I fed Briauna they played. Jenna and Garrett got to participate in a little show they had. It was so cute watching Garrett help her. She said she liked it and did not want to leave. It was a good day and they were very tired when we got home 4hrs later.

Spirit Week

This week was spirit week at the boys school. Each day had a theme and different things they could do and wear to school. It was kinda hard for them at first. They would go look out my bedroom window to see if they could see anyone walking to school dressed up for spirit day. I wish I would of been more outgoing as a kid so I really wanted the boys to have fun with it. They are a little like me as a kid and were worried that they would be the only one participating or people would laugh at them. Each day when they got home they were excited to tell me who else participated and what other people did for that day. Hopefully it was a good experience for them and they won't be so worried next time.

Happy Birthday Garrett

Today Garrett is 11 yrs old. I can't believe it. I don't feel old enough to have an 11 yr old. He has grown up so fast. He is such a good boy. I love how kind hearted he is. He is so helpful around the house and with his siblings. He definitely earn the extra privileges he gets. He love the computer and creating things. He often watches the Discovery Channel, History Channel, Military Channel etc. He loves learning about how things work. He is a lot like John in his temperament and personality. We love him so much and are so glad he is our oldest. He is a wonderful example for the younger kids. Happy Birthday Garrett!!!
We had a family birthday dinner for Garrett on Sunday evening. It is always fun to have family around to celebrate with us. Because it was not his real birthday he didn't get anything from us until today. He was so excited about all the money and gifts he got. He is really contemplating on what he is going to spend the money on. Today I surprised him at school and took him to lunch to Taco Bell, his favorite place. He was so excited. We have plans to go to Hobby Lobby to spend some gift cards and then to Cold Stone for a birthday dessert. He said after lunch," this has been a great day." Now that really make mom feel great.

Cub Scouts

The Cub Scouts is something my boys really enjoy being a part of. We just had our Blue and Gold Banquet. This year we celebrated the Chinese New Year. It was alot of fun. Both of the boys got some awards this time. Garrett is a Webelos and has been working on many different requirements before he turns 11yrs. He go a lot of awards and I don't really know what they all mean but I quess it is good.
Lance is Wolf scout. He earned his Bobcat badge. He had passed it off awhile ago but now he has it. He is also working hard to get his Wolf badge before he turns 9yr old.
It was fun and crazy as I am sure you all can imagine with a room full of boys.

No Cavities!

The boys went to the dentist for a check up last week. I had to go alone with all 5 kids. The boys did great and went back all by themselves. Thank goodness they had Finding Nemo playing so Jenna was happy. I was a bit nervous for the visit because it has been over a year since their last visit. With boys you never know how well they brush. Luckily John and I have been blessed with good teeth and so far they have been too.
