Broken Bones

I love my Lance. He is busy and full of energy. He also is known for getting hurt. When he gets hurt is typically is big. He has been playing football for about a month and and a half. It has been since the first game he has been complaining that his foot hurting. I just blew him off. I then started watching him walk and run. I did notice that he was struggling. I have asked him several times if he wanted me to take him to the doctor and he wasn't sure. Sometime that pain was gone and he didn't complain. Finally he was at a game and I noticed that he wasn't playing. Come to find out he got stepped on and his foot was really hurting. The medic didn't want him to play again until it got checked out by a doctor. The problem with this was John and I were scheduled to leave for Hawaii in 2 days. Thankfully Lance has broken both of his arms so we knew who to call. The doctor's office was great and got him in right away. Well the results was a broken bone in his foot. I felt awful. It had been broken for about a month. The good news was that is was healing well. The doctor felt a hard surgical shoe would be great to keep the foot flat. While we were in Hawaii I was told that he was running and jumping with the shoe. He also had complained that he was in pain still. After we got back I took him in to the doctor and they put a cast on him so his foot could heal without him injuring himself more.

This is Lance being bored standing on the side lines. They made him be the ball boy.

Today is the day he gets his cast off. Don't be fooled about the strange look on his face. He just doesn't like to smile.

He wasn't scared at all to get the cast cut off. He has been through it 2 other times. I just don't know what to do with him!!
