Cerreta's Candy Factory

Today we got to go to Cerreta's candy factory in Glendale. It has been here since the 60's but I have never been inside. My mom wold often come and get their mint candies. I learned that that is their top selling candy. It was a lot of fun with yummy candy to sample.

The white chocolate covered pretzels we so good.

It was so neat to see all the old machines.

These we made of chocolate.

I really enjoyed the tour and it was free. I will come again and bring the boys next time.

Take Flight

Last night we had a pack meeting for Cub Scouts. The theme was Take Flight. Our pack leader is very creative in the things we can do at the meeting. Lance received his Weblos badge. I am his leader now and so I know how much work it takes to receive these badges. I am so proud of him.

We were able to listen to an Air Force pilot speak to us. He was great and the boys had a great time.

He brought lots of fun equipment for the boys to look and and try on.

Garrett loved it.

Poor Caleb looks so small in that big helmet.

Lance was being silly of course.

67th Avenue

Oh, how I miss being able to use 67th Avenue. Many time over the years it isn't able to be used because of the Salt River being flooded. This is such a pain sometimes. This year we have had a lot of rain so as a result water is being released from the reservoir because they are full. When this happens it ALWAYS floods the road. I can say it was fun to go look at the water and all the people fishing in it. Some of the fish they caught we big. Hopefully we will get to use this road again soon.

Good Times at Rollero

Spring Break was last week and we didn't get to do much. The boys just wanted to hang out with their friends. On Saturday I wanted to do something as a family. I looked up skating and the kids thought it might be fun all except Lance. We went to Rollero Skating Center. I went to this place a ton when I was little. My first time I remembered was when I was in 1st grade for a field trip. It was so fun and brought back so many memories from my childhood. We will definitely go there again.
Jenna was so excited to skate but this was her first time. She loved it but needed help. She kept telling me the floor was so slippery. She fell a lot but had a smile the whole time.
Garrett had never rollerskating either but he was been ice skating. He picked it up fast and had a lot of fun.
Lance of course picked up skating really fast. He is so funny when it comes to trying something new. He is so afraid he won't do well but most of the time does better than the rest of us. He really had fun.
Here we were helping Jenna. She was so determined to learn to skate.

John was also helping Caleb. He had a harder time but still had fun. He much prefer not skate though.

This is what he did when we didn't make him try and skate.

Jenna was ready to go back out during the boy only skate.

Briauna just hung out. Her feet weren't big enough for any of the skates otherwise she could of gone out there with us.

Caleb and his Hat

Last night we were still going through stuff at my mom's house and found some amazing things. One thing we found a bunch of old hats from my great grandmother. There was enough that all of my boys got one. Caleb really likes his. He has worn it ever since we found it.

Garrett is 13

Yesterday was Garrett's 13th birthday. I can't believe I have a teenager. I am not old enough in my mind to have a 13 yr old. Friday night he have some friends over to ride bikes, hangout and eat. They had a lot of fun and no one got hurt.

Garrett, Christian, Luis, and Nick

Saturday morning he was patient waiting to open his gifts but was happy with what he got.

He wanted to morning look even though it was about 10.

Today we got together as family to celebrate his birthday. Here is uncle Scott giving his birthday spankings.

My attempt at a cake. It tasted better than it looked.

Garrett got many gifts and we are so thankful to our family that came to celebrate with us.

Homemade Pizza

Last night we went to my brother's home for dinner. We made homemade pizza. The kids had a lot of fun and the pizza was so good. This was a great idea, one that I will use for dinner.
